Technical Program Manager, Artificial Intelligence/Software Engineer

Mendel is looking to hire an experienced Technical Program Manager, Artificial Intelligence/Software Engineer to facilitate coordination between its growing AI, Clinical, Data Integration & Engineering departments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage various technical project timelines, proactively assessing, and defining target metrics and proper resource allocation to ensure on time delivery and customer exhilaration.
  • Exercise seasoned critical thinking skills and case specific technical judgment, working with a large, int’l and cross-functional team.
  • Develop plans for growth and scalability and continuously refine processes to improve software engineering productivity
  • Clearly and concisely communicate schedules, and specific updates in a timely manner internally to key stakeholders.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers on timelines and deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years Experience in program management, release management and/or engineering management working on software engineering projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Resourceful and comfortable with ambiguity—able to quickly formulate and test hypotheses with limited information.
  • Master’s, degree, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical field.
  • Experience with lifecycle management in a fast-paced software environment.
  • Ability to exercise technical judgment in solving software engineering challenges involving bug triage, source control, continuous integration, etc.
  • Ability to be an influential member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit/ “get it done” mentality and willingness to wear different hats.

  • Must be willing to relocate to the SF/Bay Area
  • Prefer candidates to start immediately
  • Background in Healthcare, & Machine Learning is a plus.
